Kings Hill Later Living Development Teams Up With Fitness Provider

Anchor, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for people in later life, has partnered with Jim’s Gym to provide fitness support to residents at The Landings, Kent. Offering online classes, on-demand workouts and a supportive community, the platform is designed to make exercise more accessible for people in later life.

The platform forms part of Anchor’s Be Well 360 service, a holistic programme designed to support residents of Anchor’s developments to lead healthy, active and connected lifestyles. The programme incorporates a variety of wellbeing benefits, including maintaining mobility and balance, improving sleep, making social connections and pursuing creative interests.

Founded by personal trainer James Hilton, Jim’s Gym promotes physical, mental and social wellbeing by encouraging people to build strength and maintain independence in later life. Members can take part in more than 15 live classes each week, alongside hundreds of sessions that can be accessed on demand.

The activities provided by Jim’s Gym include strength and balance training, yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Zumba, Dancercise and cardio sessions, with both seated and standing options available. Residents will also have access to nutrition support and Fitness MOT assessments.

James Hilton, Founder of Jim’s Gym, comments: “Exercise isn’t just for young people. It’s crucial to stay active throughout your whole life, which is why I founded Jim’s Gym. It means the world to have an organisation of Anchor’s scale and reputation incorporate the platform into its Be Well 360 service. Through the partnership, we’ll reach hundreds of people aged over 55 with inclusive fitness support designed to build confidence and community.”

Brett Jenkins, Wellbeing Development Manager at Anchor, comments: “Supporting residents to stay active is fundamental to overall wellbeing. In later life, regular movement plays an important role in maintaining confidence, independence and social connection.

“What stood out about Jim’s Gym was how accessible and engaging it is. The platform makes movement feel achievable and enjoyable, while offering flexibility for residents who prefer to take part from home.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the difference it makes, both physically and socially, as part of our Be Well 360 service.”

Not-for-profit housing provider Anchor is offering one- and two-bedroom apartments at The Landings, available for sale. Exclusively for over-55s, the development also provides access to communal facilities including a café, a guest suite, a residents’ lounge, a hair and beauty salon and landscaped gardens.
