Last month (25th September), residents at The Wharf, a later living development by Life in Place by Anchor in Rochester, Kent, got together to raise money for cancer research at a Macmillan Coffee Morning.
The Macmillan Coffee Morning is the charity’s biggest annual fundraising event, and saw The Wharf open its doors to residents, colleagues and members of the wider community to raise money for an important cause.
The event raised a total of £700 through the sale of cakes, teas and coffees. All proceeds will go towards supporting Macmillan Cancer Support’s invaluable work with individuals and families affected by cancer.
Macmillan provides one-on-one nursing and emotional care for individuals and their families living with cancer in the UK, helping them to navigate practical challenges and offering tailored financial advice.
Kerry Smith, Senior Sales Manager at Life in Place by Anchor, said: “Bringing residents, colleagues and the wider community together to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support was a fantastic way to support a cause that touches the lives of so many people. We would like to thank our residents and community for supporting the coffee morning, whose donations have helped us raise £700 for Macmillan.”
