A layer of snow has covered the majority of Kent this morning, as residents wake up to 2cm of snow in some areas, with up to 5cm on higher ground.
An area of precipitation moved South-East across England and Wales last night, bringing a fairly wide covering of snow.
There is likely to be travel disruption as many people return to work after the New Year celebrations.
Yellow weather warnings for snow and ice are already in place for parts of the UK, ahead of amber snow warnings for northern Scotland which began at midday on Friday. The yellow warning for Kent is in place until 10am.
