Jason Bettinson, 32, from Rochester High Street, Kent has been released from prison after serving only half of his two-year sentence for grooming a schoolgirl online.
This predator is back on the streets and parents are being warned to be alert and know where their children are and who they are talking to online.
In 2022, he travelled nearly 300 miles from Kent to Sunderland days before Christmas to “surprise” a schoolgirl he’d been grooming online — the one he wanted to “have a baby” with.
He brought a dog, two rabbits and a female friend along for the trip. He met the girl at a Metro station, took her to Subway where he cuddled her and gave her a love bite on the neck. He asked if she’d “have a baby” with him.
She was shocked but let him leave his stuff at her home — which alerted her parents. She still went out with him into the city centre.
His previous convictions include rail fare evasion and keeping a child from a responsible adult (he was caught harbouring a runaway girl from care — officials found her hiding in his wardrobe).
