A drug dealer from Tunbridge Wells have been sentenced to two and half years in jail.
On 15th September 2025, officers from the Neighbourhood Task Force were patrolling the Broadmead area when they noticed the driver of a car acting suspiciously.
Once the vehicle had stopped on Showfields Road, Kirstian Botev exited the vehicle and was swiftly detained.
A search of his vehicle found a black sock containing several small bags of cocaine as well as cannabis in the glove box.
Despite refusing to provide a home address, enquiries into the 31 year old found that he was living just 100 metres away from where the vehicle had stopped.
A house key was found in his possession, and a search took place at his home where approximately £10,000 worth of cocaine was located in the kitchen. Around £5,000 in cash and £2,000 worth of cannabis was also discovered and seized.
Botev, of Tudor Court in Tunbridge Wells, was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs, possessing criminal property and driving without insurance.
He pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced on Monday 2nd March 2026 at Maidstone Crown Court.
Sergeant Edward Kavanagh said ‘Neighbourhood Task Force officers rely on their local knowledge to track down offenders and reduce crime in the area.’
