Two young girls from Tunbridge Wells have managed to raise over £1,600 for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. DEC stands for Disasters Emergency Committee.
Florence and Eleanor (aged 8 and 10) have been really upset by the war in Ukraine and decided to do something to help the people affected. As well as doing other forms of fundraising including opening a Just Giving page, they decided to do a cake sale.
With thanks to Tunbridge Wells Football Club, the girls set up a cake stall at the ground for the Youth teams home game on Saturday.
100% of the money raised is going directly to the DEC
The girls said “We both love baking and thought it would be a good way to raise some funds!”.
The two little entrepreneurs managed to raise a considerable amount of money with the sale of their delicious cakes, with the away team & supporters also happy to participate.
Perhaps cake and football shouldn’t really mix if you want to be a top player, but they sure do taste good. In fact, the cakes were so good that nobody remembers the final score!
