Local housebuilder, Barratt David Wilson Kent has revealed its 2025 Socio-Economic report, highlighting the social and economic impact it’s had on communities, nature and the surrounding areas of its developments across the county.
The 2025 report has revealed Barratt David Wilson Kent has contributed a total of £25.4 million to benefit local communities across Kent.
This includes £19.9 million expenditure on physical works such as highway and environmental improvements, affordable homes and community facilities. The housebuilder has also made a further £5.5 million contribution supporting community infrastructure, including the launch of new schools.
As well as investing in local communities, Barratt David Wilson Kent has provided support with donations to local charities, totalling £203,500, in addition to contributing 1,417 hours of employee volunteering. This included a £10,000 donation to Oasis Charitable Trust and two weeks’ worth of volunteering at Charity of the Year, The Hive Thanet, supporting with the build of two outdoor log cabins providing extra facilities for the charity and its partners to use.
Throughout last year, the housebuilder unveiled 612 homes, including 144 affordable new homes sold at 35% below the average private new household, with 99.9% made from sustainably certified timber.
Barratt David Wilson Kent is committed to enhancing greenspace and biodiversity across its developments. In 2025, the housebuilder created five hectares of green space through private gardens and public open green space, plus 67 nature interventions including integrated nesting bricks, bat boxes and hedgehog highway routes.
