Man Charged With Murder After Woman Dies In Folkestone

A suspect has been charged with murder following a woman’s death in Folkestone.

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate launched an investigation after a 46-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the scene of a suspicious fire in Shorncliffe Road on the morning of Thursday 17th February 2022.

Liam Petts has now been charged with ‘murder’ and ‘arson reckless as to whether life was endangered’, in relation to the incident.

The 24-year-old, of Shorncliffe Road, will appear via a video link before Medway Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 23rd February 2022).
