Wombwell Hall Care Home in Gravesend was truly “rockin’ in the free world” during a visit from the sensational original, award-winning, local, contemporary choir the Rock Choir.
Belting out classics from legends like Guns N’ Roses, Stevie Wonder, and The Emotions, the choir hit all the right notes to bring a symphony of joy, laughter, and rock ‘n’ roll spirit to everyone present.
With iconic anthems like “Sweet child of mine’” echoing through the home, residents were transported back to their rockin’ out days, clapping along and sharing an appreciative nod with their air guitars in hand. The undeniable power of rock was alive and well as each familiar tune struck a chord, reminding everyone that music is the true stairway to connection.
“It was like Woodstock…but with comfy chairs!” quipped Claire Skinner, Manager at Wombwell Hall Care: “Music really has the power to shake things up and watching everyone sway to the beat was a sight to see. The Rock Choir certainly brought the house down—no pyrotechnics needed!”
The day wasn’t just a blast from the past it was the result of Jen Gibbons, activities coordinator at the home who was determined to secure a visit from the Choir. Three months from initial enquiry, the visit didn’t disappoint.
From clapping to singing and a few air guitar riffs, Wombwell Hall Care Home transformed into the ultimate rock venue, proving once again that in the right company, life can be one big rock concert.
