Officers have made a swift arrest following a report of a male carrying a weapon in Herne Bay.
Kent Police were called at approximately 5.50pm on Sunday 21st June 2026 to the High Street where it was reported that a person had been approached by a male in possession of a weapon.
Following the call, firearms officers arrived within minutes to quickly detain the man. Police confirmed the weapon was a replica firearm, which has been confiscated for further examination.
A local man, aged 30, was arrested within minutes at the scene and remains in custody.
No injuries were reported and an imitation firearm was located and seized.
