A house owner in Tankerton has inadvertently assisted with some nesting seagulls after putting some anti-bird spikes on their roof.
The anti-bird spikes were placed around the chimney to deter the feathery fliers, but the clever birds have used them to their advantage.
Close neighbours have better visibility of the roof and have obtained some photos of the birds. The seagulls have managed to build the nest around the spikes, which have actually helped to support the nest.
The lucky house owners are now the proud parents to three seagull chicks – and they probably do not even realise!
