Burglar From Gravesend Jailed

A notorious burglar who targeted five Gravesend properties within a 10-hour period has been jailed.

Keiron Butler caused considerable damage as he broke into sheds and garages in the Shorne area overnight between Sunday 4th and Monday 5th May 2025. Property stolen during his crime spree included power tools, gardening equipment and a ride on lawn mower with a value of over £6,500.

On Wednesday 7th May, officers on patrol in Valley Drive saw a car drive through a red light before speeding off. The driver was Butler, and he drove dangerously whilst being pursued until he came to a stop in Windsor Road and was detained.

Following his arrest, investigators connected Butler to the Shorne break-ins due to the GPS signal emitted by his electronic tag.

Keiron Butler, of Wye Road, Gravesend was charged and pleaded guilty at Woolwich Crown Court to five counts of burglary, two counts of damaging property, theft and dangerous driving. On Tuesday 20th January 2026, the 32-year-old was sentenced to two years and four months’ imprisonment.

He was also disqualified from driving for two years, although driving whilst in prison is not a common thing!

Investigating officer, PC Patrycja Kaczmarek, said ‘Butler carried out a blatant spate of burglaries, causing damage to property in the process, with no consideration of the impact on his victims. ‘His driving whilst making off from police was appalling and endangered other road users, and a custodial sentence for the prolific offender is entirely justified.’
