Cyclist Killed In Strood After Hitting Drivers Door

A cyclist has died following a collision with the door of a stationary car. Witnesses and dashcam footage are now being sought by Kent Police, following the fatal collision in Strood.

At around 11.20am on Tuesday 14th May, a cyclist was riding a black bike in Canal Road towards the High Street, when there was a collision with the driver’s door of a stationary red MG ZS. Emergency services attended the incident which was opposite the entrance to Strood railway station.

The cyclist, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital where he later died. Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the car or bike beforehand, to call them on 01622 798538 quoting XX/LW/049/24.
