Amin Belechguer, 29, has been jailed for four years after footage recorded on his own GoPro cameras revealed a series of dangerous riding offences, including speeds of more than 189mph, wheelies and running red lights. The supercharged Kawasaki Ninja H2 he used has been permanently confiscated, and he will face a 10-year driving ban after his release from prison.
The motorcyclist waved at police as he filmed himself riding at speeds of nearly 130mph. Belechguer, was spotted riding his Kawasaki Ninja H2r motorcycle at speed along the A20 Ashford Road towards Maidstone, without a registration plate on 27th June last year. He slowed down and tried to get the officers to chase him. Belechguer was clocked at over 130mph and only stopped when police deployed a ‘stinger’ which punctured his tyres. During the escape, he crossed solid white centre lines and rode towards oncoming traffic, including over the blind brow of a hill.
Concerned about the risk of a collision, officers decided to drop back. Further along the road, colleagues deployed a stinger device in an attempt to puncture the Ninja H2’s tyres. With the tyres deflated, Belechguer abandoned the bike and ran into nearby hedgerows in an attempt to avoid arrest.
Although he escaped at the time, the motorcycle and recording equipment he left behind gave investigators access to footage documenting offences beyond those committed during the pursuit itself. Recordings recovered showed him reaching approximately 189mph, or 304km/h. The videos also documented wheelies, dangerous manoeuvres, running red lights and riding along pavements and pedestrian crossings.
Belechguer pleaded guilty to the offences and was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, 21st October 2026.
