Green Party Member hands In Petition To Reinstate Gravesend-Tilbury Ferry

Green Party member Rebecca Drake has presented a petition to Kent County Council to reinstate the Gravesend-Tilbury ferry. The Gravesham based Green Party candidate thanked helpers Richard Lehmann and Stuart Jeffery for supporting the campaign.

The petition has more than 2,300 signatures as many people want to see the vital link across the Thames restored. She hopes that KCC will reinstate this vital local service, which was cancelled when Thurrock council could not pay their share of the subsidy to keep it running.

The ferry service was used by workers, school children and day trippers looking to make their short crossing rather than take a detour via the Dartford Crossing.
