Local housebuilder, Barratt David Wilson Homes, recently hosted three free-of-charge Christmas wreathmaking workshops for residents at its developments across Kent. Residents enjoyed workshops and letting their creativity flair at ‘The Woodlands’ in Broad Oak, ‘Richmond Park’ in Whitfield and ‘Spitfire Green’ in Ramsgate.
Bringing together the Kent community this Christmas, Barratt David Wilson Kent organised a series of wreathmaking workshops with local florists to facilitate family-friendly sessions using locally sourced materials across weekends in the festive period. By covering the costs entirely, the housebuilder gave its residents the opportunity to nourish their creative skills, whilst uplifting local businesses – and with the Bank of England reporting that costs this Christmas this year will increase by 29% – the housebuilder recognised the importance of spreading some affordable holiday cheer.
Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt David Wilson Kent commented: “The wreathmaking workshops we organised at our Spitfire Green, The Woodlands and Richmond Park developments were well received by our residents, who really embraced the Christmas spirit. A big thank you to our three local florists, Contemporary Flowers, Gingerly Green Flower Farm and Belladonna Flowers for facilitating our workshops and teaching residents how to make their very own Christmas wreaths which they can keep for years to come. We hope all our residents enjoyed this festive treat!”
Clare Readman from Gingerly Green Flower Farm also commented: “It was an absolute pleasure to help host a Christmas wreathmaking workshop at Richmond Park on behalf of the Barratt David Wilson Kent team. The energy was brilliant from the Whitfield residents, and I had a blast getting creative with them, as well as seeing the wonderful design at the end.”
Jenny Hall from Belladonna Flowers added, “I had a wonderful time getting into the festive spirit with residents at Spitfire Green in Ramsgate. With the cost-of-living crisis affecting all our budgets this Christmas, I thought that Barratt David Wilson Kent’s wreathmaking workshops was such a unique and thoughtful way to give a gift to the whole community!”
Rachel from Contemporary Flowers concludes: “Whilst creativity and the festive period go hand in hand, as does socialising with our neighbours and Christmas is a great time to take a break and make some memories! I hope the residents enjoyed the session and all the wreaths are proudly hanging from their new homes.”
