Met Office Issue Weather Warning For South-East

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow in Kent today between 9am to midnight.

Gritters will be out treating primary routes this evening and tomorrow morning, and salt bins are available across the county for use on roads and public footpaths.

A weather system may push snow into some southern counties of England on Wednesday, which could then prove disruptive. There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected. There is also a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off, most likely in upland areas.

People are being advised to drive with caution, as although the main roads will be gritted, minor roads may not have been. Also, if it starts to snow the grit becomes ineffective.

Train services are currently unaffected but travellers are advised to check train company websites for the latest updates.
