Insulate Britain Protesters Block Port Of Dover

Insulate Britain Protesters have blocked the Port of Dover today after being warned that they would be arrested if the continued to block the M25 motorway.

The protesters were being dealt with by local police but some have managed to get onto the A20, causing further disruption.

The group have been targeting the M25, but a recent injunction by National Highways, who run the nation’s motorways had put a stop to their actions. The group have decided to focus on other targets and the injunction is not valid on minor roads which are maintained by KCC.

Got to hand it to Insulate Britain, they seem to be one step ahead of everyone

The group are asking for the UK Government to produce within four months a legally binding national plan to fully fund and take responsibility for the full low-energy and low-carbon whole-house retrofit, with no externalised costs, of all homes in Britain by 2030.

The group want to ensure that the UK government meet its obligations “of staying below 2°C which will stop the unimaginable suffering for future generations”. Perhaps they need to go and do a few more protests in China!
