Large Nutcracker Statue Stolen From Business In Sheerness

Police are appealing for information following the theft of a Christmas statue which was stolen from outside a business. The police say it was ‘allegedly’ stolen although as its now been gone all weekend, theft seems to be the primary reason!

Kent Police were called at 1.33pm on Friday 5th December 2025 to a report of the theft of a nutcracker on Broadway, Sheerness.

The figure, which is approximately five feet tall and has a value of £250, is believed to have been taken at around 1pm. It had stood in front of a funeral home to make visits more welcoming for bereaved people. Not sure anything can make a visit to a funeral home any more appealing, but at least they were trying!

Two men, a 59 year old and a 39 year old, from Sheerness have been arrested in connection with the theft.

Detectives are now seeking anyone who might be able to assist their investigation and see the safe return of the stolen property to contact them. Or they could use a set of nutcrackers on the arrested people to try and obtain a confession.

Anyone who may have relevant information or CCTV footage should contact Kent Police on 01795 419119 quoting 46/208343/25.
