Police officers have charged a man after two people were stabbed in Gravesend on New Year’s Day.
Daniel Wray, 31, of Winchester Road, Orpington, was arrested in Dartford on Friday 5th January 2024 following a CCTV appeal by Kent Police.
He was arrested in connection to an incident which happened at around 3.15am on Monday 1st January 2024 after it was alleged that a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were assaulted.
During the incident the victims reported that they had been approached by a man when they were walking in Gravesend Town Centre, near to Harmer Street.
The man is alleged to have made threats towards them before he assaulted them. They sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds.
Both victims were taken to a London hospital and have since been released.
Mr Wray has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of cannabis.
He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 6th January 2024.
A 28-year-old woman from Gravesend was also arrested in connection with the investigation. She has since been released on bail until Sunday 3rd April 2024.
Daniel Wray has previous form, after he was charged with affray, threatening someone with an offensive weapon in a public place and breach of a non-molestation order in August 2016. He was charged after he waved a machete around at McDonald’s in Welling
