Man Seriously Injured After Dartford Bridge Fall

A man has been seriously injured after falling from the top of Dartford Bridge.

Police were called to the QE2 bridge just after 8am on Thursday 28th September after the man stopped his vehicle at the top of the bridge and walked to the edge before climbing over the barrier. A short time later he was seen falling from the bridge, in what is thought to have been a suicide attempt.

The man was recovered from the river and has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.

A spokesman for Essex Police said “We were called to the QEII Bridge on the Dartford River Crossing following reports of a concern for safety. Essex Police assisted Kent Police and HM Coastguard to recover a man in the water, who had sustained serious injuries”.
