A Policing unit came across a rather unusual bike during their nightshift in Dartford recently.
They found a pushbike that has been adapted to be propelled by a small engine! However, this modification meant that the rider would have needed to have insurance and the appropriate licence in order to use it on the road …which they did not.
It has been discovered that 80cc petrol engine kits are available from Amazon and are far cheaper than electric motor kits, but they are not legal without the correct insurance and licences in place.
The bike was seized by police on the spot.
