Kent Police were called at around 9.45am on Monday 18th May 2026 to reports of a collision between two vehicles on Watling Street. The quick police response led to the seizure of a large quantity of cannabis and counterfeit goods.
Officers attended and witnesses alleged one of the van’s occupants had fled from the scene with two carrier bags.
Following a search of the area, the bags were recovered nearby and were found to contain more than 2kg of cannabis. A further search of the van the man had reportedly fled from uncovered suspected counterfeit clothing, tobacco products and thousands of pounds in cash.
Two men, aged 29 and 36 years old, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug dealing offences and applying false trademarked labels to goods. They remain in custody.
