Shoplifter Squares Up To Worker In Faversham

A shoplifter caught in the act in a Co-op in Faversham, attacked and spat at a shop worker.

The shop was left in a mess after the woman was caught trying to conceal items under her jacket. When the worker tried to eject the woman from the shop, a scuffle broke out.

Once the woman was outside the shop, she then spat at the worker before trying to regain entry with a shopping basket she was intending to use as a weapon.

Police were called to the scene, although the shop worker has put themselves at risk after receiving kicks and threats.

With a rise in such crime, shop workers are being advised not to challenge shoplifters as it is not worth risking your life for some ‘low value’ products. But shoplifters are now aware of this, giving them an even better opportunity to steal and get away with it – leading to the problem becoming worse.
