According to American President Joe Biden, who is apparently the ‘most important person in the world’, this week the UK announced its new Prime Minister as ‘Rashi Sanook’. Mr Biden went on to say that Rashi Sanook is the first British Asian to lead a UK Government.
The new UK Premier has embraced his Indian and Hindu heritage and people across the South Asian country proudly celebrated his victory. How odd that there were more celebrations in India than there were in the UK? Is his heritage something we should be spending a lot of time talking about, or rather if he has the ability to do the job?
After the fiasco of the last few weeks, it is plain as day that a persons gender, sexual orientation, religion or anything else has zero bearing on whether they are capable of doing the job of Prime Minister. We didn’t berate Liz Truss because she was a woman. We berated her because she was simply hopeless. She made bad decisions and cost the country a considerable amount of money.
One thing that will make an interesting conversation is the upcoming Christmas celebrations. King Charles III, as Head of the Church of England, will be making his first Christmas Day speech to the nation. Hindus do not recognise Christ. Christ is not part of the pantheon of Hindu deities. So in theory, Rashi Sanook will have no understanding of what King Charles is talking about!
Although some Hindus do celebrate Christmas time like an extension of Diwali or a festival. Some also join in celebrations as a way to assimilate into local culture. So perhaps there could be a small saving in Christmas cards sent from Number 10 this year which will help with the countries huge debt!
Ultimately, it is impossible to know if someone is going to be a good leader until they are actually in the job. There isn’t a guide book to teach someone how to be a perfect leader, which is probably why so many people get it so wrong. You would have thought that working as a cabinet minister would give a good insight, but it clearly failed with Liz Turdminator. But once they are in power, then you have a huge and potentially dangerous problem if they don’t perform as expected.
The Americans chose Joe Biden, only to find that he couldn’t even find his own way up his garden path, or off a stage. He has since demonstrated that he is not too hot with people’s names either.
The Russians chose Vladismear Pukin to be their leader years ago and for a while he appeared a reasonable choice. But Pukin then went ‘rogue’, chose the strict dictator line, got rid of anyone who challenged him and then decided to use as many citizens as possible to shoot Ukrainians. Pukin is reportedly living on borrowed time, but what he choses to do with the time he has left is a big concern.
With Pukin’s fingers close to the nuclear button, there is always the fear of a leader not accepting they could be on the losing side. Pukin has lead for many years and now it’s an impossible task to get rid if him, which is a worry when Russia have the most nuclear weapons of any country. But with Joe ‘I’m not sure what I’m doing’ Bidet having access to the second highest number of nuclear weapons on earth, perhaps the Americans, and the rest of the world, need to consider if they have the right person in charge too?
