Police officers remain at the scene of a serious collision near Sittingbourne last night.
At around midnight on Tuesday 28th June 2022, patrols were called to the southbound carriageway of the A249 at its junction with Key Street, following a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian.
South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service also attended and a man received medical attention.
Both carriageways on the A249 remain closed and there is likely to be considerable congestion in the area while officers investigate the circumstances. Motorists may wish to consider alternative routes. Police have warned of severe congestion this morning as the accident investigation continues.
