Cocaine Dealer Detained By Proactive Police Officers In Sheerness

A drug dealer from Swale is starting a prison sentence after he was arrested by officers who spotted a suspected drug exchange.

On 30th July 2023, constables from Kent Police’s Proactive Targeting Team were on patrol in an unmarked vehicle in Sheerness, when they saw Jason Brown driving a Citroen van.

Brown stopped in Marine Parade and they watched him pass something to a man who had approached the vehicle.

Brown drove off and the patrol stopped the van in Broadway to complete a search. They seized cash, a number of cocaine deals and a mobile phone. He was arrested and further class A drugs were recovered when they attended his home address.

Brown, of Wigmore Road, Gillingham was already on licence following a previous drug-related prison sentence. He was later charged with possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.

He pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court and the 27-year-old was sentenced on Monday 27th November to three years and nine months’ imprisonment.
