Community Spirit Blooms At Kingsnorth Country Fayre

Local housebuilder Barratt Homes has welcomed late spring celebrations in Kingsnorth, near Ashford, having sponsored the Kingsnorth Country Fayre on Sunday 28th May. The housebuilder, who is building its Chilmington Green development nearby on Parkland Drive, donated £300 to Kingsnorth Parish Council in sponsorship of the crown competition at the event.

Hosted at the Kingsnorth Playing Fields, the local community gathered to start a weekend of celebrations following the late May Bank Holiday and to conclude the King’s Coronation celebrations at the beginning of May. Visitors were treated to a range of entertainment including stalls, fun fair rides and axe throwing. The £300 donation from Barratt Kent went towards the sponsorship of the crown competition for children to show off their artistic skills and royal flair.

Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director for Barratt Homes Kent, added: “It was so wonderful to see the community come together at the long-awaited Kingsnorth Country Fayre to round off the King’s Coronation celebrations. It is so important to us that our local communities can enjoy events such as these over the spring and summer months as much as possible, and that we are able to contribute to make it memorable for them. We are proud to have worked with Kingsnorth Parish Council to offer our support for the event – we hope that everyone who came to the festival enjoyed the crown competition!”

Peter Le Rossignol, Manager of Kingsnorth Parish Council commented: “It has been great to bring back the Kingsnorth Country Fayre after a successful launch last year for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The sun was shining and the crowds were plentiful on the day, everyone had a smile on their face and enjoyed the event. Our festivals are a testament to the community spirit here in Kingsnorth, and this one will go down in the history books. We are incredibly grateful to Barratt Kent for its kind sponsorship, which helped support our efforts and costs in bringing the best entertainment to the event.”
