British Transport Police attended a different kind of emergency yesterday morning, after a horse had got itself stuck on the railway lines at Hoo.
It was fortunate that some members of the public had seen the horse in peril and had managed to cut the fence and secured the horse away from the tracks. BTP Officers assisted in getting the horse safely off the lines before it was hit by a train.
Officers then communicated with the RSPCA as to the best course of action. The question was Hoo’s horse was it?
Later on, it was decided as there were no owner details the RSPCA would collect the horse, for it to be re-homed.
