Drugs and weapons found in a children’s playroom have led to a Faversham man being jailed.
Officers were first alerted to Ellis Priest on 16th April 2023 when he was seen acting suspiciously by CCTV operators in Rochester High Street at around 12.30am.
They quickly alerted officers who arrived at the scene and stopped and searched the 21 year old.
During the search Priest told officers he had cocaine in his bag and when they looked inside, they found 84 wraps of cocaine, two bags of cannabis, cash and an iPhone. Ellis Priest, of Arthur Salmon Close, Faversham, was subsequently charged with drug offences and after pleading guilty on 10th October 2024 was released on court bail.
On 25th June 2025 officers acting on information received executed a warrant at Priest’s home address in Faversham and when inside the property officers located a large machete next to his bed. Priest then led officers to a children’s playroom where they found cannabis, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and another machete.
He was arrested and later charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis, possession of criminal property and possession of an offensive weapon.
On 5th November he was sentenced to four years and two months’ imprisonment at Canterbury Crown Court.
Detective Constable Stephanie Roworth said ‘Priest had an opportunity to turn his life around, but he continued to distribute harmful drugs in Kent. The weapons found in his home show that violence goes hand in hand with drug dealing and officers work tirelessly to ensure that offenders, like Priest, face justice for their actions.’
