Immigrants From COVID-19 Camps Head To Kent

Eighty migrants are being monitored for COVID-19 after being picked up in the channel over the weekend. They attempted to get to the UK from camps in France, where cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed.

In order to assist the immigrants, her majesty’s Border Force collected the poor travellers and helped them to arrive safely in Dover by giving them a lift. They have now been placed in quarantine whilst they are checked for any signs of Coronavirus. So that is going to be a minimum of 7 days and a lot more if any of them show symptoms.

Kent locals are furious that the migrants are being kept in the county rather than being returned to France immediately. They are also annoyed at the further drain on NHS and medical resources at an already busy time.

when is someone going to be brave and put a stop to this constant flow of people into the UK?

It is not surprising that France are doing nothing to stop these people leaving their shores and are more than happy for UK services to pick them up and give them a free ride all the way to our country. There are talks of a hotline being set up, so the migrants can ring ahead to ensure their taxi boat arrives in the Channel on time.

To some who live in Kent, it feels like an invasion all over again. There does not seem to be any way to stop the flow of people arriving and do we know just how many get returned? As most immigrants have no passport or papers, it is unlikely that the UK can return them. Although we should be showing care and compassion to our fellow humans, just how far do we get pushed before enough is enough?

We are in the middle of a global pandemic and the NHS are already struggling. There are probably thousands of people who should not be here already, using our NHS services. The UK have become the ‘softies’ of Europe and this is why the immigrants keep heading for our shores. As we move towards Summer with longer daylight hours, it is likely this problem will only get worse.
