Kent BTP Reveal First Electric Police Car

British Transport Police in Kent have revealed their brand new electric police car.

The police unit have confirmed they have obtained a new Tesla 3 all electric response vehicle which will be on the road soon.

They say that they are committed to transferring its fleet to electric helping to reduce our carbon footprint.

The reduction in engine sound will certainly help them to sneak up on a few unsuspecting criminals, although lets hope the car doesn’t run out of charge when they are in pursuit!

At present, there’s been no talk of fitting charging points in the stations with car parks so there could be some issues around keeping the Tesla topped up with power.

It could be even more awkward if they get a call-out, yet the car requires another 30 minutes charging before it can go. Time will tell if the change to electric vehicles will be a success.
