The Kent County Show returns to the Detling Showground this weekend to celebrate everything special about Kent. And by that we mean agriculture, farming, and produce rather than dinghies or hot hatches racing around the one-way system!
The three-day event, runs from today until Sunday, with about 100,000 attendees expected over the three days.
It is organised by the Kent County Agricultural Society and has been the county’s showcase event for farming, agriculture and countryside life since 1929.
There will be more than 400 trade stands and exhibitors, with shows across the weekend including livestock, equine, food, heritage and family entertainment.
There will be plenty of food stands sizzling away, which will probably match the punters, with the high temperatures expected around 28 degrees.
Prices are £26 per adult or £65 for a family per day. Which is a fair chunk of money but you will certainly get your money’s worth with the number of things to see, as the show runs from 8am to 6pm.
Kent County Council leader Linden Kemkaran said “The show is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate everything that makes Kent special, while meeting residents face-to-face and talking about the services and support available through the council.”
Think that is the last thing that visitors will want to do is talk about the council!
