As the 2023 football season comes to a close, Kings Hill FC has teamed up with Anchor, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of retirement housing, to celebrate the club’s end of season awards ceremony. Anchor, the later-living provider behind nearby retirement community, The Landings in Kings Hill, provided trophies for the occasion.
The awards were presented on Saturday 17th June to members of Kings Hill FC. A major part of the local community, Kings Hill FC has over 50 teams, ranging from five-year-olds finding their feet on the pitch, to the well-established veteran groups. Founded in 2003, the grassroots club has grown to welcome over 300 players in the last 20 years.
With facilities to accommodate players of all levels, from pros in their elite squads, to the community-driven colt and development teams, the club’s dedication to the loyalty of their players is made clear at their annual awards ceremony. This year, to mark the completion of Anchor’s luxury specialist homes nearby, the 2023 Kings Hill FC trophies will be engraved with The Landings development logo.
Dale Funnell, at Anchor’s The Landings, said: “It’s important to us to be able to positively contribute towards community groups in the areas where we are building new homes. Kings Hill FC is a prime example of an association that champions inclusion in their community, as demonstrated by their lengthy membership list. Being fit and active is becoming more and more important today. At The Landings we have a range of services and support for residents such as our Be Well 360 programme, which can help boost fitness and wellbeing. It’s great to be able to work with a club that is staunchly encouraging healthy lifestyles, from childhood well into adulthood.”
Barry Gethin, Chairman at Kings Hill FC, said: “Our end of season awards ceremony is a very special day for everyone involved in the club, particularly this year being our 20th anniversary. It’s a moment for us to not only recognise those that won leagues and cups from the past season, but also acknowledge the hard work and improvement that our players have achieved over the year. This sponsorship by The Landings means we can recognise all of our loyal players who have worked tirelessly in improving their skills, not only on the pitch, but also teamwork, resilience and building friendships off the pitch too.”
