A man in his 30’s has been killed after being stabbed at the Cricketers Inn at Meopham on Saturday night. Another man is in a stable condition in hospital after being stabbed multiple times.
The incident happened at 9.15pm on Saturday night at the pub just off the cricket green. Kent Police arrived on the scene quickly and two men, 29 and 50, were later arrested on suspicion of murder.
A police spokesperson said ‘The men involved are all believed to be known to each another and, at this stage, police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation’.
The A227 Wrotham Road was closed in both directions at Meopham Green for most of Sunday, but reopened shortly before 4pm.
Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are continuing to make inquiries.
