New Home Bargains Coming To Ashford

Home Bargains has announced the opening date of its latest shop, which is located less than a mile from an existing branch.

More than 70 staff are set to be employed at the discount giant’s new Drovers Retail Park store in Ashford. The new shop will cover approximately 30,000 sq ft, and will include a cafe, bakery and garden centre.

The arrival of the shop was expected to lead to the closure of the town’s current branch on the nearby Warren Retail Park. But owners say the existing store will remain open when their new site opens on Thursday, 26th February 2026, which means that Home Bargains will have two stores in Ashford separated by less than a mile.

Construction of Drovers Retail Park began in January when contractors started clearing land off A20 Fougeres Way, opposite The Range. There will be five further retail units, with Costa Coffee the only other confirmed tenant so far.

A new access road has been installed in recent weeks, while a car park is also taking shape on the site, which is close to Junction 9 of the M20.

Ashford Borough Council approved the project – which is being built on green fields next to The Warren – in 2018.
