Starbucks To Take Over Sainsburys Cafe

Owners of a Starbucks franchise have announced plans to take over the restaurant space in the Sainsburys store in Folkestone.

Cobra Coffee, who own the franchise for the American coffee brand, are preparing to open on Park Farm Industrial Estate in Folkestone.

A spokesperson for Cobra Coffee, said “We look forward to bringing the Starbucks Experience to customers in Park Farm, Folkestone Sainsbury’s in the near future.”

There was a collective groan from the pensioners living nearby, who just want to enjoy a reasonably priced refreshments at supermarket prices, not some frappy-yappy-chino at four times the current price.

Thankfully, Starbucks recently confirmed that it will not be going ‘cashless’ across all its UK branches, after rumours appeared online stating that they would only accept card payments. It looks like the Folkestone peeps will still be able to spend their coins to get their Americanised drinks.

Starbucks already has two stores inside Sainsbury’s supermarkets in Kent. It has one at the superstore in Kingsmead Road in Canterbury and opened another in November last year at the Sainsbury’s in Chestfield near Whitstable.
