A man has been arrested on suspicion of the theft of a motor vehicle despite trying to evade capture by jumping into a river.
Officers from the Proactive Targeting Team were alerted to a motorbike that had been stolen in the Dartford area at about 7pm on Wednesday 22nd June 2022.
After they caught up with the bike, the rider made off and jumped into the river in Mill Pond Road, but he was soon arrested.
Following a search, a quantity of class A and B drugs were also found.
A 20-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of class A and B drugs with intent to supply. How can these people always be of no fixed address? Do they all live in caravans?
The man has been released under investigation.
