A suspected wartime mortar shell was found during excavation work on Top Dartford Lane near Puddledock Lane at Hextable near Dartford around 11am on Thursday morning (20th November).
Some local people were evacuated before a bomb disposal team arrived around midday. They were able to dispose of the device safely and the road was able to be reopened later in the day.
