Two violent men from London who attacked a victim in Chatham have been given jail terms.
Andrew Wedderburn and Djorn Anderson travelled to Medway on 20th April 2025. When they arrived at Chatham Hill at around 1.50pm, they approached a man who was believed to have been involved in a previous dispute.
A verbal altercation followed which resulted in the victim being pulled to ground and stabbed. Wedderburn and Anderson fled the scene, and the victim was left on the ground with serious injuries.
Roughly 90 minutes after the stabbing, the pair were travelling in a black Audi when it was stopped by police on the A2 at Gravesend. A search of the car located multiple items of blood stained clothing and Wedderburn and Anderson were arrested.
Detectives scoured hours of CCTV footage and were able to link the pair to the scene of the assault. They were charged and remanded in custody. Both men pleaded guilty and on Wednesday 7th January 2026 were sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court.
Andrew Wedderburn, 22, of Peckham, South London, was jailed for four years for wounding with intent. Djorn Anderson, 23, of no fixed address, was jailed for five years and three months for wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article. Both men will serve a further two years and six months on licence when they are released from prison.

We worked tirelessly to ensure these men were brought to justice. I hope this sends a clear warning to those who travel to Kent intent on committing violent crime.’
