Emergency services were called to Sunny Sands beach in Folkestone last night after a small dog got stuck in the harbour wall.
Firefighters attempted to rescue the dog after it had reportedly crawled deep inside the harbour arm wall through a small opening.
Heavy duty cutting equipment was used to enlarge the hole to try and get to the trapped animal.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that rescue services were unable to save the dog due to a rapid incoming tide.
