Dartford Bus Loses Its Top

A Dartford bus driver is probably looking for new employment after a small mishap last week.

The bus driver decided to take a shortcut down Overy Street, which has a low railway bridge before it passes the Wickes store. The bridge is in fact about 3 foot lower than the height of a double decker bus. The accident happened at around 9.40pm on 24th August.

Unfortunately for our now unemployed driver, they did not notice the height restriction notices and ploughed through regardless. Sadly, the bridge won the battle and the double decker bus was left as an open top version.

After all those years of the bus depot being opposite, they didn’t realise a double decker wouldn’t fit…

It is not thought that anyone apart from the driver was on the bus at the time of the crash.

Bus companies in the area are being advised to send all potential employees to ‘Specsavers’ before offering them contracts of employment!
