A car crash at the top of Wrotham Hill has closed the A20 – London Road.
Emergency services responded to a call just after midday after two vehicles were involved in the accident.
Eyewitnesses report that a 4×4 pulled out of Labour-In-Vain Road to turn right, into the path of an oncoming Ford that was heading towards Wrotham. A number of fire & rescue vehicles, as well as an ambulance were in attendance.
It is said that two men were in the 4×4 with a woman and young children in the Ford. One man, who is thought to be the driver, was taken away in a stretcher, although it is thought that this is more of a precaution as ‘whiplash’ was thought to be the main issue. The other people were said to have minor injuries.
Locals at the scene said that the turning is quite dangerous, with the road narrowing at that point, die to the righthand filter lane. They said that vehicles travel too fast and that there should be some protection for vehicles sitting stationary, waiting to turn into Labour-In-Vain Road.
Police are hoping to reopen the road at around 2pm.
