A moped in Gravesend failed to stop for a routine police check last night, leading to a pursuit through the towns streets.
Police spotted the rider and pillion on what looked like an unroadworthy moped and decided to take a further look as part of their night operations.
The moped failed to stop and took off at speed. Following a pursuit by the police vehicle, the moped rider took the bike into an aggregates yard where they quickly decamped.
The police were hot on their heels and managed to capture both suspects.
The rider was dealt with for various motoring offences. Let’s hope the fines are enough to keep these people off the roads, but it is doubtful!
