Businesses and shops throughout Tunbridge Wells were celebrating last week when they were allowed to reopen following the lifting of some COVID-19 restrictions as we reached step two of the government’s ‘Roadmap out of lockdown’. Trustees, staff and volunteers at Paddock Wood Community Advice Centre had an extra special reason to celebrate, because Monday 12th April 2021 was the official opening of its brand new purpose-built offices at 94 Commercial Road in Paddock Wood, having relocated at the start of the year.
Officially opening the new building, MP for Tunbridge Wells Greg Clark said “The location of Paddock Wood Community Advice Centre’s new office could not be better – right in the heart of the community. It’s also much more accessible for those with physical disabilities. I have always been really impressed by the service they offer – free, confidential face-to-face bookable appointments and also drop-in clinics which are incredibly helpful for people facing emergencies. We are so lucky to have this fantastic organisation in Paddock Wood run by such a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.”
Manager Suzi Rich added “I would like to thank Greg Clark MP for taking the time to officially open our new offices. Partnership working is so important for organisations like ours and the support of our MP is appreciated. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our new landlords for their generosity and support with our relocation, and all our wonderful volunteers who have done such amazing work supporting local people since we opened in 2012, and particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Paddock Wood Community Advice Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 1:30pm. Clients can access the service in person by visiting their offices, or through telephone and video appointments or email advice. Outreach appointments and home visits are offered in limited circumstances and all advisers are DBS-checked.
