A proposed new Adventure Golf area planned for the seafront in Walmer, Deal is expecting to get an update soon. Plans for the new golf park were submitted to the planning officers in August 2020 and a decision is expected later this week.
The new Adventure Golf is planned to take over the land currently used by the putting green on Walmer sea front. The developers say that Walmer Promenade is a perfect place for such an activity as the number of tourists is growing.

The potential new golf course is expected to have 18 holes of various sizes, enough to challenge anyone. The theme will be loosely based on the areas heritage with a Roman boat wreck, cannons and a dishing port. There is a small kiosk for selling tickets and we really hope that the person that works there will be called ‘Keith’.
The area will be surrounded by a small fence to keep it secure and ensure the sprinting illegal immigrants do not trample across the holes on their way from the beach.
Would be great addition to our seafront
So far, the majority of the comments from locals is positive. The putting green has been disused for a long time so the Adventure Golf is seen as a new project to bring some fun back into the town.
The concerns focus on parking issues, as with an influx of customers, there is no further car parking spaces to accommodate the additional traffic. There are also fears that the industrial look of the area plus a large security fence will not be in keeping with the look of the town. Walmer Parish Council have already objected to the fence, industrial look and parking issues with the current plans back in January 2021.
