The Stour Field Team have been working hard to maintain the River Stour in East Kent.
The team have supplied photos to show their recent hard work, removing overgrown vegetation and exposing the chalk bed stream. The work to clear the rivers path helps to reduce the flood risk and improves habitat for local wildlife.
Once the river had been cleared of blockages, the river was allowed to flow freely which allowed built up silt to wash away, leaving a beautiful chalk and gravel stream.
The before and after photos show a dramatic change in the scenery and a nice, clear river, which can now flow freely.
Well done Stour Field Team for all your hard work!
