Runaway Boat Wipes Out Police Camera Van In Cuxton

A police camera van has been severely damaged this morning after it was hit by a speedboat in Cuxton. The speedboat was being pulled on a trailer on the opposite side of the road.

It is reported that the trailer broke loose and crossed the opposite carriageway before impacting into the stationary police van. Luckily nobody was injured in the accident, although the police warned that if the boat had hit a car it would have entered the passenger compartment.

What are the chances of hitting a police van?

It is reported that the trailer broke loose and crossed the opposite carriageway before impacting into the stationary police van. Luckily nobody was injured in the accident, although the police warned that if the boat had hit a car it would have entered the passenger compartment.

The driver has been dealt with for a number of offences, including not having a breakaway line attached and for being ‘the most unlucky person of the day’. It is unknown if taking the speedboat out today was an essential journey!

A number of other motorists were heard cheering as they drove past, as the police camera van will now be out of action for some time. There have been attempts to disrupt police camera vans in the past, such as parking in front of them and leaving the car boot open, but this has to be the most effective plan to date!
