Police in Tonbridge were alerted to a van that was full of building rubble during their routine patrol yesterday (Monday 14th April) . After they pulled the van over to the side of the road, the driver insisted the van was not overweight. The driver also decided to advise the police that they should be “targeting other people”.
In a dramatic fall from grace, the vehicle scales showed that the van was at a staggering weight excess of 414kg, which equates to 118%.
The less-than-smug driver was reported straight to Court for multiple offences and will be appearing soon, where he can happily tell the magistrate that they should be “targeting other people” too!
