Rather than the ‘hair of the dog’, a police motorbike rider has been congratulated for having the ‘nose of a dog!
Just last night a rider from the Road Policing Unit was patrolling the M20 when his dog-like nose detected the smell of cannabis emanating from a van in front.
The rider managed to get the van to pull over where a drugs test was promptly carried out. The driver failed the roadside drugs test and was arrested. The van was seized with a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN).
It was an incredible bust and just goes to show that the police will use every available sense to get their man!
